Mark "Gary Marx" Pairman è un chitarrista inglese, noto perloppiù per essere stato (insieme ad A.Eldritch) il fondatore dei The Sisters of Mercy. In seguito al suo abbandono del gruppo (1985) fondò insieme a Anne-Marie Hurst (ex Skeletal Family) i Ghost Dance, band goth rock che ebbe poca fortuna e che si sciolse di lì a poco (1990). Nel 2003 ha rilasciato il suo primo album solista, Pretty Black Dots, caratterizzato da una impostazione acustica/cantautorale. Nel 2007 è uscito 1995 and nowhere, un album frutto di un lavoro di collaborazione del 1995 tra lui e A.Eldritch che però non andò mai in porto. Sarebbe dovuto essere il quarto album studio dei TSoM, ma Eldritch lasciò cadere la cosa, così GM ha recentemente deciso di finirlo (scrivendo i testi e cantandoli lui stesso) e di pubblicarlo.
